So the flood came, when Noah was 600 years old.
– Noah and his family entered the ark, because God found him righteous in that generation
– Noah did all that God commanded him
– After Noah, his family and the birds and land animals entered the ark, it was God who shut the door
– So that generation of wicked was wiped out except Noah and his family
From NT lens, the ark is the symbol of Jesus as the ark of salvation for the righteous ones, those are righteous because of Christ’s righteousness and not own righteousness.
The act of God’s closing the door means that God who is able to start, He will complete it.
The waters flooded for 150 days.
