Isaac in old age and lost his sight, decided to give his blessings to Esau and asked Esau to do hunt game and bring the food. Rebekah told Jacob to trick Isaac, Jacob was hesitance, but Rebekah pushed him, even said if there is any curse, she would bear it.
So, Jacob disguised himself as Esau and got the blessings. When Esau found out he wept, and Isaac gave him a left over blessings. Esau hated Jacob and swore to kill him once Isaac died, so Rebekah asked Jacob to flee to Laban.
Sometimes I ponder why would Rebekah do that, given that she has been given prophecy. If God had promised something, it would happen in His way and not our ways.
Man’s effort of trying to help God always screws up the matter.
So Esau lost his right twice to Jacob. Once was his fault of exchanging it with the red stew and secondly due to Jacob’s trick.
Yeah..
In our life we’d love to be in control, instead of trusting God to control, and it often messes up things.
