Three fundamental things in life were instituted in this chapter.
Perhaps, if we know the origin, our perspective may be freshen.
God rested (Shabath) on day 7. God is not bound by time, there’s no days in his realms, neither he felt tired or weary that he needed rest.
The rest is about communion, celebration, selah, pause to commune with God, to cease from work and enjoy Him.
God created adam (human) from adamah (ground) with His hand and breathed Ruah (spirit) into him.
Then God put Adam to work in the garden! Paul would remind us also, the work that God has prepared for us, in Ephesians.
We often see, feel and think work as a curse. The ground was cursed later in Ch 3 but not the work, and then Christ has redeemed us from the curse too.
We still face struggles and thorns in our workplace, but somehow if you ask God and take a step of faith, you’ll see it as work God prepared for you in the garden of Eden.
Not’s gonna be easy. In this side, the garden still has thorns, but somehow God will spead the rain of roses too in His season.
The third matter God’s instituted is marriage. The union in a flesh of man and woman is blessed here. Later, Paul would use many metaphors to describe Christ and church in marriage metaphor.
Marriage is one flesh united with 2 characters molded by the third person, Christ.
